Hüseyin Özkan, the pride of Turkish Judo, gave Turkey a historic victory by winning the gold medal in the 66 kg category at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Özkan, our first Olympic gold medalist outside of wrestling and weightlifting, represented our country in the international arena in the best way possible. At this important turning point in Turkey's sports history, he contributed greatly to the spread of judo and became a source of inspiration for young athletes.

Now, as the President Candidate of Turkish Judo Federation, Hüseyin Özkan aims to carry Turkish judo even further with the knowledge, experience and vision he has accumulated over the years. He will use his experience both locally and globally to inspire young judo players and take Turkey to the top of the world rankings.

Under Hüseyin Özkan's leadership, the aim is for judo to reach a wider audience in our country, to strengthen the infrastructure and to increase international success.
